The enormity of Pet Nutrition

Pet Nutrition

Couple weeks back we attended a show in Brisbane called the Brisbane Dog Lovers Festival.

Fantastic event and it’s been a little while since we attended one of those.

Immediately you are hit with one overwhelming theme, Nutrition, and not just here and there it dominates the show.

Dog and Cat Nutrition……wow…. It’s almost overwhelming. Kibble vs Fresh raw meat and veg packs, gut health pro-biotics and on and on.

There is no doubt we want the best for our beloved four-legged friends and its clearly visibly in the amount we spend to keep their tummies full.

When I look at our Jack Russell, he gets kibble in the morning and fresh raw meat in the evening with some veggies. The amount of information out there in regards nutrition could easily cause one to question what you are feeding them. His annual Vet visits; we always hear his coat is so shiny, teeth are good, he looks super healthy.

Okay we must be doing something right, but I think the question still sits in the back of my mind or any dog lovers mind, is it the best I can give him.

Social media can certainly send you down a path with grass eating, scratching, red belly and what that all could mean.

Would love to hear your thoughts around nutrition or what you feed your four-legged friends.

The more expensive the kibble is it better for them?

Cost of living is getting up there what’s a cheap supermarket fresh meat/chicken recipe look like?

How much of the nutrition is lost in kibble due to its processing?

I guess you get the idea, we spoke to so many stalls at the show with everyone very convincing about their nutrition belief.

Perhaps it is as simple as my dog is healthy energetic no drama, Vets happy, so he must be eating correctly………. let us know.
